City Grocery:  A residential re-use of a 1928 grocery in Phoenix, Arizona.  Designed by landscape architect Steve Martino who owns Cactus City Design.   

There is a wonderful interview with Mr. Martino on the Land 8 blog in which he says his favorite building material is concrete block and talks about his struggle to use native desert plants long before natives were fashionable. Interesting Ipe fence for the pool area at La Canada Mid-Century in Los Angeles, California.   I wasn’t able to find out who designed the fence but the house renovation was done by interior designer Jamie Bush & Co.
