I design & build gardens and this blog is about all things landscape and garden that can influence garden making. My bias is toward the clean, straight forward, and spare but I can be seduced as much as anyone by the sensuality of nature. However, what I post will be about more than the pretty, precious, and nostalgic. We'll see how well I do. And "Carex"? It's a sedge frequently used in planting native gardens. I like it very much.
Rustic stone chair in the garden of John Ruskin, the Victorian art critic. I’m guessing this is at Brantwood in Cumbria, England where he lived from about 1871 until his death in 1900. If anyone knows more about the location, please share.
